Have you heard? Families that play together stay together

Take a chance! When you tell a family game night at your house, you might think the kids need to come unhinged, but make it non-optional and make sure you make it fun! Take it from me, I've done it and it works. Everyone will participate either as players or spectators when we play games on the Xbox. The house was filled with laughter and cheers and it was nice to see everyone having fun. Playing games is ageless and virtually no generation gap.

Plans for one night a week where everyone will go home. If you do not have a night where everyone will be there, you have to handle things around so that you have at least one night where the whole family is home.

Then there is the game board to consider. You can play everything from handling snakes and ladders depending on the age of the child. You can set the theme to play a game for example Hawaiian theme. Have pineapple and stuff like that, everyone has their own leis. Everyone can talk about what they know or a question about Hawaii. Use your imagination. You know what you want with your family.

The game itself does not have to relate to the theme; just the atmosphere and conversation. You can play the Yatzee, Life, Clue, Sorry, snakes and ladders, Do not divulge secrets or Uno. No matter which game you play. You can incorporate the theme into the various intervals throughout the game. Every time someone comes in all red square must bite of pineapple. Rotating ten and you have to eat all the macadamia nuts! If you choose Open Prison card, it's your turn to do the Hula dance. Get the idea?

At the end of every night game, discuss the theme of next week. Family members can take turns choosing a theme and includes snacks and decorations. If this is too much for one person to coordinate or if the children are young, these activities will be assigned. Your three-year-old decided he wanted to be a clown theme complete with balloons and everyone will wear clown make-up. Class 6 you do not choose the theme of art and decoration painting or drawing.

If you want to keep it simple without extra, that's okay too. If you are sure to be a hit in the game and their favorite snacks. Everyone will want to return again and again.

It should be a cheap night. You can choose a new game at thrift stores and garage sales for $ 1.00. Most of the decorations that you may have around the house or can be obtained in the same place you get the game second hand or even a dollar store.

Make it fun. Your kids will not remember and thank all of the time that you put in the work, but they will always cherish the time with family. Family plays together stays together. Have fun!
